A Little About Me
I came to counseling a little later in life, but in retrospect, I feel as if I’ve always been heading in this direction. Since I was young, I’ve been curious about the human experience, coupled with a desire to serve and connect with others. Whether I was shoeshining, landscaping, framing a house on a jobsite, waiting tables, gillnetting, talking to software engineers, or bartending, I’ve been naturally inclined to get to the depths of things and laugh a little as I do it. For now, life is slower, and a larger part of my curiosity lies in noticing the constant, ever-subtle changes in my two young kids, sometimes my wife, and even me. I’ve been a lifelong Pacific Northwest resident and am fortunate to call North Bend my home for the last ten years.
My Hobbies
I like to tinker with things; attempt to build it, or fix it if I can figure it out. This may lead to lost time, but I find pleasure in the puzzle and the chance to learn something new. When I’m not deep breathing through trying to get a lawnmower working, you may find me reading literature from days old (admittedly stuck in the past here) books about gardening and medicinal herbs, philosophy, or diesel engines. Other big ones on my life are hiking, cooking, and travel. Can’t get enough of those.
Education/Experience
I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University in 2026 and my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Western Washington University. Prior to joining Larch, I completed my clinical internship at Friends of Youth, where I worked with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and families in the North Bend and Duvall communities. I’ve worked with at-risk youth at Echo Glen Children’s Center, provided crisis assistance to callers at the King County Crisis Line, and am currently pursuing my Complex Trauma Certification Training. As a human and lifelong learner, I bring all this with me and look forward to sharing space and time as we engage in the process together.
