Meet Your Counselor
The therapeutic relationship is important, and because of that, we believe it is important for you to know a little about who you are working with. Although we cannot paint a full and accurate description of who we are through these short texts, we hope the following will give you an idea of what it would be like to work with each of us!
Brittany King, M.S, PSY.D. Cand., LMHCA
A Little About Me
I have been with my husband for 8 years and we will soon have 2 boys together, one almost 5 and the other due September 2020. My family has lived in the Puget Sound area for 5 generations, and on one side alone I have 13 cousins. I spend time with family, friends, camping, and enjoying family activities, such as going to the zoo or children’s museum.
I own a 5-year-old horse, a Friesian mare named Zelda. I have been riding horses since I was 8 years old, and have worked with many breeds and disciplines including; dressage, jumping, English, Western, and driving. We like to visit Zelda as a family. A long-term hobby I am working on is singing. I also love playing Nintendo games, board games, watching anime, and taking our dog to the dog park.
I received my Master of Science in Clinic Psychology from Capella University in 2017, and my Bachelors of Arts in Global Studies from University of Washington Bothell in 2012. I am currently enrolled in a Doctor of Psychology program at California Sothern University and expect to graduate in 2021.
I began working as a Mental Health Counselor for Larch Counseling in 2020. Before I began working as a private practitioner, I worked as a clinical psychology intern at Discovery Behavioral Healthcare providing therapy, psychological assessments, and crisis services for individuals and families from Oct 2018-Sep 2019. Prior to that, I attended a doctoral year in residency from Jun 2017-Jun 2018 to enhance clinical skills.
I am EMDR Trained for work processing Trauma.
